James has worked in renewable energy since 2009, beginning with advisory roles to DFIs and aid agencies across Southern and East Africa, followed by a move into energy efficiency for large corporations. He joined ACED in 2012, starting in land and development before progressing into bid leadership, procurement, commercial structuring, and financial close. He was appointed General Manager in 2022 and CEO in 2025.

Under his leadership, over 1.2GW of wind and 500MW of solar PV have been delivered, and Anthem has grown into a leader in the C&I market. James is passionate about the visible impact of the work, the local economic value created by projects, and the “Anthem Effect”—the belief that remarkable outcomes are made possible through shared vision, aligned partnerships, and the power of working together.

With more than 25 years of experience leading financial strategy for JSE-listed companies and infrastructure funds, Clive is the financial architect behind bold renewable energy ambitions. His leadership turns projects into bankable, enduring assets—demonstrating that sustainable energy and sustainable returns go hand in hand.

Clive has structured and scaled a significant portfolio of operational renewable assets, designing innovative approaches that integrate finance, tax, and regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance and maximize value across expanding portfolios.

He now takes this strategic expertise forward into Anthem, applying disciplined, forward-thinking leadership to build strong financial foundations, optimize operational effectiveness, and deliver long-term value for stakeholders.

With more than 20 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, Ryan has co-founded two UK-based development companies and led the successful delivery of projects across South Africa, the UK, and the Americas. Highlights include securing and operating two REIPPPP Round 2 solar PV projects and helping grow EIMS’ portfolio from three to 15 projects, totalling over 1GW. At Anthem, he leads the “build, own, operate” phases—ensuring strong systems, continuous improvement, and performance optimisation.

Fatiema has spent over 20 years helping teams navigate transformation, talent growth, and positive culture shifts — with a steady hand on managing people risk and sustainable change.

At Anthem, she is focused on building a purpose-driven team and a resilient business culture that supports meaningful growth.

Prior to joining Anthem, she was Chief HR Officer at EIMS Africa, and earlier, she held various Senior HR Manager roles with the most recent being at Old Mutual Wealth, where she sat on both the Wealth Board and Emerging Markets HR Executive team.

She is known for her people-first, principle-led leadership style — and for creating environments where individuals and organisations can thrive.

Dylan serves as the Chief Technical Officer at Anthem, bringing over 15 years of experience in the energy sector, with a strong track record in delivering large-scale renewable energy projects. He began his career at Eskom and went on to lead multi-GW developments across Africa and beyond as a technical consultant and senior manager at ACED.

Dylan combines deep technical expertise with commercial insight and strategic leadership. He is passionate about mentoring others, solving complex challenges, and advancing sustainable solutions that create long-term value. His work plays a vital role in driving Anthem’s mission to accelerate South Africa’s energy transition.

Mike leads capital strategy at Anthem, with over 20 years of experience at the intersection of finance, energy, and law. After starting in legal practice, he moved into infrastructure finance, where he has structured funding for renewable energy projects across Africa, including the landmark Cookhouse Wind Farm. His ability to craft innovative, cost-efficient capital solutions enables scale and speed.
