Lower Magaduza Hydro Power Scheme is a 14.5MW Eswatini Electricity Company off-take, run-of-river, hydropower facility comprising 2 Andritz 7.25MW Francis turbines. The facility is located approximately 5km southwest of the town of Sidvokodvo, eSwatini. The facility is being constructed on a split-contract basis with Andritz responsible for the turbine supply and installation, Inyatsi responsible for the civil balance of plant works, and Ampcor responsible for the electrical balance of plant works.

The facility is being constructed under a split-contract approach, with Vestas responsible for the wind turbine supply and installation, Raubex Infrastructure responsible for the civil and electrical balance of plant works, and a joint venture consisting of Adenco Construction and CSV Construction responsible for the Gamma Main Transmission Substation.

Northern Cluster wind farms taking shape in the Karoo

Anthem’s Northern Cluster (420MW), located near the Karoo towns of Murraysburg and Richmond, comprises 3 x 140MW wind farms: Umsinde, Khangela and Ishwati Emoyeni. Each wind farm consists of 32 x Vestas V163 4.5MW wind turbines. Construction commenced in 2024, and commercial operation is expected to begin in Q4 2026.
